A protective clear coat finish highlights the richness and durability of hot rolled steel. Natural mill scale, welds and grinder marks make each one unique in its own way.
Hot rolled steel has a very characteristic dark blue-grey mill scale oxide finish that is a result of the manufacturing process at the steel mill. The cooling process at the steel mill allows the metal to oxidize, producing a steel sheet that is blue-gray color towards the edges and dark gray towards the center. Similar to wood grain, marble or granite, each steel sheet is different.
Standard Feet
Most of our cabinets include heavy duty levelers built-in into the feet. We also include self-adhesive felt pads for placing underneath to protect flooring and/or prevent scratches.
Casters Upgrade Options
If casters can be installed they will be a selectable option via a pull down menu. The following options are available for most items. Casters are all heavy-duty with ratings of 700-800lbs each. Casters are also taller than the feet and will raise the cabinet higher off the ground.
Swivel Steel Caster
2-1/2" taller than feet (6-1/2" overall)
Rubber Swivel
2-1/2" taller than feet (6-1/2" overall)
Fixed Steel Caster
2-1/2" taller than feet (6-1/2" overall)
Low Profile Fixed Steel
1-1/2" taller than feet (5-1/2" overall)
This is a made to order item with an estimated turnaround time of 8-9 weeks. Unless stated in the description.
LIFT GATE
For large/heavy items, we highly suggest adding lift-gate service. A liftgate is a motorized platform attached to the back of the delivery truck that will physically lower your order to the ground so that you can take it inside your business or home. The truck driver will place your order on the ground using the liftgate and you are responsible for bringing it inside.
This lift gate charge covers the entire order, regardless of the number of items.
Smaller items such as night stands or end tables may not need a lift gate however its best to make sure you have someone available to help, if needed. Please note, the typical height of a semitrailer truck bed is four feet off ground level.

Very happy with the quality construction of this product. It is nicely designed and well manufactured with high quality materials. The metalwork is nicely burnished and the rivets are heavy duty and prominent. The wood shelves are nicely finished and look great. These shelves are also BIG! You should be able to place pretty much anything you like on them. Note that rivets do not extend to the back of the shelf. The metal bars holding the shelves are welded and ground at the back. This is fine if the product is going up against a wall (which mine is) because you can't see it but if the shelves were floating in the room I would want the rivets on all four sides. Great communication from the company with fairly quick turn-around. The bar and bookshelves were both packaged together on a heavy-duty custom wood pallet and nicely wrapped and protected. My only suggestion is for Modern Industrial to provide a shipping option with indoor delivery. These pieces are large and very heavy with the bar coming in over 230 lbs. and the bookshelves probably 100+ lbs. I owe my neighbor a nice bottle of bourbon for helping get these two pieces into the house. Curb-side delivery really isn't appropriate for something of this size and weight. If you have to charge extra for the indoor-delivery then so be it, I would definitely pay. Thank you for all of the attention to detail in the design and manufacturing. Overall a great product that will certainly last a lifetime, i'm very pleased.
